Shimmer & Sparkle: Polyvore Magazine

I've noticed a lot of pictures both on polyvore and on tumblr of popsicles, and I just got inspired, I guess. Maybe this is a stupid idea, but I love eating ice lollies, so this might be just a little selfish of me to do this. This is just the title page, but starting tomorrow, I will scour the webs for you girls to make the best healthiest, cutest and most delicious popsicles for you!

I'm always in a love hate relationship with my eyebrows. I've tried numerous things, and i've never been happy with just plucking. They seem to come back with a vengeance every time! So while recently watching the TV there was a new advert for an eyebrow waxing kit. I fell in love with it and needed to try it. So after getting it today I can safely say, although this product may be new it is amazing! You don't have to take trips to a local salon for waxing/threading/plucking any longer since you can do it yourself!
 
The kit comes with wax on one side and Aloe Vera smoothing cream on the other, 20 of the fabric patches to cover the wax to rip off your unwanted hair, and a spatula to smooth your wax over the area. You also get a little instruction booklet which is very clear and easy to follow(:
 
Directions;
 
1) Add the pink end (wax) to a cup of boiling hot water for 1 minute. This warms up the wax, and it's easy to apply.
 
2) Squeeze the pink tube (no. 1) so a little of the wax appears at the tube opening, add that to your eyebrow.
 
3) Use the spatula provided to smooth the wax in the directions you want it to go, and the shape you want.
 
4) Add one of the strips to the waxed area, and pull it off in the direction of the hair growth. It does hurt. I won't lie. But to me it's like plucking all at once. Just make sure you rip it off quick! If there are any left over little hairs, then spread the spatula over the area, and wax again(: Continue until you have your desired shape!
 
5) Once you have waxed that area, press your index finger onto the part you have waxed.
 
6) apply the cream (white end no. 2), and smooth into the area. (i add 3 small little drops along the area i have waxed) Then rub it into the area. This will soothe and moisturise the area!
 
If you have any wax left over anywhere just wipe it off with hot/warm water and a cloth, it comes right off!(:
 
This by far is my new favourite eyebrow treatment! & the product lasts for 4 months.This is even better as it also saves you money!
 
Overall I give this product a 10/10. I love this already and i will be using this for a long time to come if nothing better comes along!

I bought this today & one of my local stores in the centre of town for about £6.48 which is well worth it, but it is in Tesco for £9.99 & Asda £8.49.
 
I don't know if it will be available in america, but i do know that Asda here is Walmart over in America, so if you'd like this product, check your nearest walmart!

Summer is finally here! HURRAH! & even for the likes of me that live in the U.K summer has actually arrived here too, surprisingly! So here we go..
 
1) the first look is probably defined as natural, it doesn't look like you're wearing make up but you are! As it's summer, it gets sticky, sweaty and just gross sometimes. So i believe in the summer less is more.
 
So for the 'natural' look just wear your normal foundation, and add some concealer to hide any blemishes, or darkness, and you're good to go!
 
2) This look is the same basis as before, just enhancing your features a little more, it's also good for those girls that want to wear a little more, so that they know they're wearing it. As some girls feel a little better with more make-up on then others.
 
This look, you add mascara (any brand/your favourite) onto the ends of your lashes, not all of them, as they will most likely end up 'spider legish' against the rest of your face, since you're not wearing a lot of makeup. Adding to just the ends of your lashes lengthens them still, and they still feel like they have no product on afterwards. (if you'd like you can add eyeliner, but be careful of the smudges at the corner of your eyes! there's most likely going to be more residue since it's hot!) For the lips a simple lip balm with a tint would be perfect. If you don't want to go all the way and wear lipstick and lipgloss, find a tinted lip balm, which are always good in the hot weather, they keep your lips moisturised and still looking pretty!
 
3) This is for the night time mostly. or you can wear it through the day. Use the same products as before, including the small amount of mascara, and then add a lipstick of your choice. Normally I would go for a soft pink or a nude! Then once you've found your lipstick of choice, grab some vaseline and add it over the top. This then is a lighter alternative to lipstick and lipgloss, and it's not sticky! Also as well as the lipbalm from tip 2, vaseline will keep your lips moisturised and feeling perfect! So you can get the glossy shine of a lipgloss, but the nourishment you need of a lipbalm with vaseline!
 
again you can wear eyeliner if you'd like too, just be aware of the corners of your eyes!(: You could also wear eyeshadow, but again be careful as the sun might ruin your look, and you could end up with panda eyes!(':

Ok like i said last time, I have a problem with a few spots in the middle of the month, and they are most likely stubborn and very very visible. So shopping around i found this little gem!
 
Origins is a natural organic skin care company and what better way to get rid of spots an natural way.
 
Over the years I've popped my spots, leaving the little scars behind, which is covered with my foundation but i can still see when i have no makeup on. But using this product takes away those little scars and the spots themselves, the darkness also leaves with the little scar, leaving your face spot free! Which for a very small bottle product I find amazing.
 
1 | It might be a small bottle, but you don't need a lot of product! You dab a little onto your offending spot, and it will dry it out
 
2 | the product doesn't dry out the skin surrounding the spot, just the spot itself.
 
3 | The spot is reduced/gone within an hour.
 
4 | small pot/bottle yet it lasts for a very long while!
 
Once you have put on the spot treatment, it will sting if you have popped your spot beforehand, but don't worry, it still works out fine! It dries the spot out, and takes away the irritating/hurtful pain some spots have.
 
This product has salicylic acid in it, but it works perfectly with my skin. I've never had a problem. & it always gets rid of my spots!
 
I would recommend this to anyone! sensitive, to oily skin types. it's fantastic! It lasts for a long time, and it gets rid of spots as well as the spot scars left behind. The product is like a little bit of magic.

ok so, after seeing the advertisements for this product plenty of times on the tv, i thought i'd give it a try as I normally break out a little during the centre of the month. other than that my skin is pretty clear.
 
& as other products such as clean and clear don't work for me I needed something, as it was becoming a deep pet hate.
 
I went and bought this product, and it says on the packaging that you are to use it twice a day, (morning and night i presume) to clean up your skin.
 
So the next day I started my regime with the product, I can say one good thing, this product smells amazingly. The grapefruit smells is gorgeous!
 
Continuing this regime like it says on the packet i notice a different straight away. My skin was gorgeous and soft, from the tiny little micro-beads in the product and it felt clean, which is what i was really looking for.
 
I continued using this product, and got too the 3rd day (morning) when i noticed my skin had become sore under my eyes, across my cheekbones, and around my nose was red. On closer inspection i noticed my skin felt very very dry, and it was starting to flake. I literally wanted to cry. I didn't know what had happened to me, and i quit using it immediately.
 
It says you can use this for sensitive skin, BUT I REALLY WOULDN'T ADVISE IT. The scrub has salicylic acid in it which i have in other products of mine that are fine with my skin, but the grapefruit is also an acid. Thus making it even more of an acidic wash.
 
I decided to use E45 cream on my face to be able to get the moisture back into my skin, during this time it was painful to touch my cheeks, forehead, chin and the sides of my nose. The skin was so dry that i couldn't wear my make up without feeling self concious. The E45 cream (not lotion) cleared up the dryness/flakiness and secured the moisture back into my skin.
 
After this i binned the product & decided to go to my local drugstore that holds some good skincare brands, and there i found my new face wash that is beautiful. (Benefit, I'll do a review soon)
 
Suffice to say i will never use this again, or anything from neutrogena, i don't think i can trust in their products after the experience i had. If you would like to use this, then i suggest you use it ONCE a day, and wash your face normally with soap and water for the night time.

I'm so sorry, testing has messed up my schedule...I hope you girls like this new layout, then again, I'm just trying something new. I really want to reboot this account back up to what it was before, and since it's almost summer, why not?

Here are the five ways:
1. Egg whites
Take a small bowl and whip 3 egg whites until they become fluffy and white. Use your fingers to gently spread the egg whites on to your skin - concentrate on the problem areas. Let the egg whites dry on the skin and wait a few minutes before rinsing away gently with moderately warm water. Do this 2-3 times a week.
 
2. Baking Soda
Simply mix a small amount of baking soda with water to make a consistent paste. Very gently massage the baking soda onto your skin and leave it on for one minute, before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Remember to always moisturize your skin afterwards. Massage a few drops of olive oil on your face. Repeat this 2-3 times a week.
 
3. Lemon juice
take a bowl and squeeze 1-3 lemons in it or better yet buy an all natural lemon juice from your local grocery store. Take a cotton ball and dab it with the juice. Apply the juice to affected areas completely but don't overdo it. Repeat this 2-3 times a week.
 
4. Aloe Vera Juice
You can buy such over the counter products but it's better getting either fresh aloe vera gel or juice every time by growing an aloe vera plant in your very backyard (believe me it isn't a hassle) or buy it in its all natural form without an additives.
 
5. Olive Oil
Before going to bed gently massage olive oil onto your facial skin, concentrating on the trouble spots. Continue massaging for a few minutes till you can feel that your pores are completely saturated. Drape a warm wash cloth over your face to steam and hence open the pores. Gently wipe away the excess oil. Repeat the process 1-2 times before rinsing your face with cold water. Apply a very thin layer of olive oil on your face and leave it on for at least 15 minutes before going to bed.

so back in the beginning of one direction 2010 Louis stated he loved "girls who ate carrots" anyway, i bet you're thinking what on earth does this have to do with this? well it's made my love for all things carrots exceed beyond what they were. weird I know!(; even when he now states he hates them.
 
Anyway, enough of Louis, i love carrots, even if he doesn't, and i love this carrot bubble bar! It's fruity which is what i love, lemon and blackcurrant, which are the distinctive smells of this product make me insanely happy. If you love fruity smells then you'll most likely love this smell, since the smells seem fresh, and not a plastic/artificial smell. I can state right now, my dad smelt this and he actually loved this, which shows it's potential to get males to bathe! which is a great mission accomplished for my brother. (11yr)
 
As it's a bubble bar, you can use this a number of times. I have used the bubble bar once, and i used it a little, and still got a FANTASTIC amount of bubbles! The bubbles last for about half an hour? which i like but i would like them to last maybe a little longer? I love my bubble baths long, and with a good book!(:
 
The smell of the bubble bar stays on your skin also! & you learn that the smell moves to your clothing as well as you, so your pj's will also smell nice for the night! The bubbles from the bar are also silky and soft. I know that might sound a bit silly to hear, but they are really nice and soft, which then leaves my skins beautiful and soft also!
 
So i can smell fruity, have soft skin, it has the ability to make males bathe, and it's a carrot. I love this product, and i think i'll be purchasing another next year when the easter specials come again. The only negative of this product is that i wish the bubbles lasted a little longer!
 
The product is easily washed away when you release the water, no wash cloth is needed, and no orange residue is left. Just give it a quick rinse and you'll have a beautiful clean bath again!
 
I would give this product a 9/10. I would love more bubbles!

Product; mascara

Ok so i'll let it be known now i'm one of those that are very picky about the wands on mascara brushes. I owned Rimmel Sexy Curves a long time ago when it first came out, and i hated the brush that much i gave it to my sister.
 
I'm a fabric/synthetic brush lover. Plastic just doesn't grip the lashes as well.
 
So getting this mascara I was a bit apprehensive. Yet when i got it home it pleased me to find the brush wasn't plastic! so needless to say this has become my favourite mascara!
 
I apply an all over coat first, making sure to get as close to the lash line as possible, then i wiggle the brush outwards, this makes sure that as much of the product goes on your lashes as possible.
 
TIP; If you don't want a lot and only a little, a tip is to wiggle the brush on the ends of your eyelashes and you'll get a little product but it still makes your lashes look beautifully long!
 
After the first coat dries I add a little onto the ends of my lashes on the top lid, this then elongates them further.
 
I don't add a lot onto my bottom lashes, what i do is blink and the mascara from my top lashes moves to my bottom easily, i do this as i don't like the 'spider leg' look.
 
I have no eyeliner on in the photos either, to get that effect just add the mascara to the ends of your lashes and it fans them out for you.
 
All in all i actually love this mascara and Rimmel did a good job! The brush is fantastic, the grip and the product application is really good, and this could be my new go to mascara.
